It streams over 80.000 Audio and Video files
The Challenge
Austrian Mediathek, a subsidiary of Techical Museum Vienna has over 1 million audio and video files in its archives.
In 2004 we developed together with eye.com the Staatsvertrag website for the 50th anniversary of "The signing of the "State - Treaty" on 15th May, 1955. Staatsvertrag means history as a virtual walk through of politics, everyday life, and culture in the first post-war decade. Hundreds of recordings and videos tell not only the facts, but also the environment of this time period.
The Process
Staatsvertrag is based on epoint`s CMS, developed since 2001, currently in version 4.2. The complex environment based on two different server architectures and a relatively large amount of data was a challenge to the epoint technical team, but based on the flexible CMS architecture we were able to deliver a reliable solution.
Because Staatsvertrag website needed to have the possibility to upload photos, recordings and videos files we integrated a player developed by epoint. Because we worked in our CMS we needed to consider providing a new content management strategy.
The Results
Staatsvertrag founded to the opportunity to aggregate all that video and audio content and we implemented our own technology to make the aggregation process more easier and to make more and more of the files available on the internet.
The platform speak for itself and the interface design and the clean technical solution based on epoint's CMS brought us a special price of the "Österreichischer Staatspreis" in 2004.
